Thelypteris
The genus Thelypteris consists of almost one thousand species, most of which are distributed pantropically, with some species found in temperate regions. They are endemic throughout most of the United States (including Hawai`i), with a few species extending into Canada.
Two species are found in California: Thelypteris nevadensis, and Thelypteris puberula, along with one sub-species, Thelypteris puberula var. sonorensis.
