Blechnum

The genus Blechnum consists of around 200 species worldwide, with most occuring in the Southern Hemisphere. They are evergreen and some species, such as Blechnum gibbum, form small trunks.

Plants grow well with shade in moist, well drained acidic soil.

The 1997 IUCN Red List of Threatened Plants lists seven species as threatened.
