Botanical Gardens and Parks
The following San Francisco Bay Area gardens and parks feature various species of fern:
Golden Gate Park, San Francisco
Golden Gate Park in San Francisco has a large number of mature tree ferns located in Tree Fern Dell, situated around Lily Pond (Quarry Lake) which is between John F. Kennedy Drive and Middle Drive East, to the southwest of the Conservatory of Flowers and north of the National AIDS Memorial Grove. Click here for a map of the park.
The National AIDS Memorial Grove (de Laveaga Dell), south of Tree Fern Dell in Golden Gate Park, has a number of tree ferns growing in the Fern Grotto (located to the west of the grove).
The Conservatory of Flowers (many types of fern, including some tree ferns).
The M.H. de Young Museum (50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive) has a number of tree ferns planted both inside and outside, and the California Academy of Sciences (55 Music Concourse Drive) also has a number of tree ferns planted either side of the main entrance.

East Bay
University of California Botanical Garden at Berkeley located at 200 Centennial Drive (many types of fern, including tree ferns). Click here for a map of the garden.
There are also ferns (including a tree fern) located at the entrance to the University and Jepson Herbaria, University of California at Berkeley. The herbaria are on the ground floor of the central atrium of the Valley Life Sciences Building. Click here for a map of the Valley Life Sciences Building.
